II. Guided Writing
Directions: Write an English composition in 120-150 words according to the instructions given below in Chinese.
当前人们的旅游方式多种多样，有人选择团队游(Package tour)，有人则喜欢自助游

Nowadays people have a wide selection when they go traveling. Some prefer a package tour, others choose self-organized tours. As for me, I like package tours better.
First of all, it is safe to be led by tour guides. Tourists can have an idea of the dangerous places such as cliffs and iceburgs according to the introduction given by their tour guides. Also, when we go to somewhere unfamiliar, we’d better avoid getting lost and avoid going to the spots that are not worth the ticket money!
Second, in a package tour, tourists never have to worry about the food, the vehicles and the accommodations. All they’ve got to do is just put on their coats and press the “shoot” button on the camera! Furthermore, a group of tourists can often enjoy discounts in restaurants and hotels. Third, the group members can easily make friends with each other. Getting along well enough, they may even come to figure out the plan for their next trip together!
As you can see, what a wise choice it is to go on a package tour! I’m really looking forward to having my personal safety, daily necessities and social network guaranteed by a tourist agency.

Gone are the days that we stay at home during vacation. Instead, we travel here and there. However, some people prefer package tour while some people tend to choose self-organized tour.
As far as I’m concerned, I prefer package tour. It not only costs less but also provides us with tour guide. So convenient is it that we don’t need to worry about that we may get lost in a totally new city, and guiders will show us around all the places of interest. Furthermore, package tour makes it easy for us to make friends with different people from various cities. In the tourist team, we may form some precrous friendships. However, every coin has its two sides. Package tour is not free enough, which may result in much inconvenience. For example, we must follow the schedule of travel agency, thus limiting our free time.
To sum up, each of the travel way has its own advantages as well as disadvantages. What matters most is that we should choose the better way which is fit for ourselves.

While recently more and more people are in favour of self-organized tour, I always hold the idea that package tour is still my favourite.
Above all, package tour can bring much convenience. I still remember the time when I first went abroad. I didn’t know how to go through the customs and fortunately the tour guide helped me. Besides, I don’t have to think much about spending too much money as package tour has a lot of discounts . I can stay in a 4-star hotel at a rather low cost. That must be nice.
What’s more, package tour brings more than travelling. We are sure to meet with strangers from different parts of China and within several days of staying together, we share a lot of our experiences of traveling and thus we become friends. I believe that is much more fascinating than just traveling itself. Many people may criticize that package tour lacks freedom. However, it just depends on how you define it. When I’m traveling, I am free of worries and I’m in the realm of freedom.
So, come on! Join our package tour! You’re sure to meet with more splendors.

Nowadays，people having more ways to travel. Some people prefer package tour for its low expenses and the guide available. But for me, I prefer self-organized tour.
An obvious advantage is that the timetable is more flexible. You can arrange the schedule on the way at any time. You don’t have to visit the tourist attractions one by one as package tours do. Without the time limit, you can get closer to the local culture, especially in some unfamiliar area. Local inhabitants can tell you more than the guides do. You can enjoy to the greatest extent at your destination.
However, self-organized tour may be exhausting that you need to manage the meals and accommodations by yourself. But to be optimistic, you can enjoy the local cuisine more.
In my opinion, you can take a package tour or get enough information on the Internet before you decide to take a self-organized one.

Nowadays there are a variety of traveling ways from which people may choose. Some people choose a self-organized tour while others choose a package one. From my perspective, I prefer the former one. Travel is one of the best ways to release oneself and relieve the pressure. In a self-organized tour, people around me are all my friends and family members, people who I enjoy being with. So I will feel more free and casual during the tour, which ensures that the tour will be more fun and reach the goal of relaxing ourselves.
By organizing the tour by myself, the schedule is tailored for my needs. I can arrange the destinations as I like. This will help me learn more from the tour whether the history, the traditions or the culture of my destinations, making the whole tour more meaningful. I am certain to collect a lot of precious memory there.
However, there is something inconvenient. I have to deal with my meals and hotels. But as every coin has two sides, my friends and I can pick what we prefer to tastes and where to stay in the course. After all, food culture is also interesting and important. And we can choose a more satisfying hotel to stay.
The key of travel is to experience. I believe my friends and I will experience a lot of beautiful things during a self-organized tour. And that is enough.

With the rapid development of China’s economy, people tend to go traveling to relieve their pressure. When it comes to how to travel,
opinions vary form person to person. Some people are favor of package tour. They argue that it spends less but has good service. What’s more, they can make friends easily, although they may not so free.
In my humble opinion, I enjoy self-organized tour better. Listed below are some reasons that I hold. First and foremost, there is no denying the fact that the self-organized tour provides us with much
freedom. We can stop for a rest wherever we want. Second, without the tourist guide, we are able to choose the tourist attractions that interest us most. It’s a perfect way to develop our ability to organize and arrange. What should be taken into consideration is that since we are with parents or friends, we have the same taste, and there’s no need for us to argue over where to eat. No garden without weeds, it may cost more, when we look for hotels by ourselves.
All in all, as long as we enjoy ourselves and follow the way that suits us best, it’s totally a perfect way.

Dear Terry,
How are you doing these days? I suppose you must be quite busy with the new English section. Actually, it is nothing but a surprise for me.
Oh, yes, I know an English section should involve some foreign news and some constructive advice on English studying. I still, however, maintain that stories of some successful people abroad should be showcased in the English section.
As the University Entrance Exam is around the corner, Senior 3 students are all studying around the clock. It goes without saying that we may be faced with
setbacks and obsessed with the fear of failure. Feeling about in the dark, we tend to be lost in the deep ocean of study without Noah’s ark to rescue us. Hence, stories of successful people are the very things that we want to see in the English section which may summon up our courage from the stage of chaos. From them, we can find failures are nothing but the foundation to success. How I wish you are on the same wavelength with me!

I’m a student from senior three. Since our school will add an English section to our school newspaper, I’m so looking forward to it. Here are some of my suggestions.
I want to see some interest contents in the English section, such as cerebrity and historical stories, current essays and some jokes. Besides, I also want to see some English studying materials.
Let me tell you the reasons of it. As is known to all, interest is the key pushing force of reading. Many of us are interested in cerebrity and historical stories and they can expand our horizons. And we senior three students should be concerned about current affairs, so current essays will fit our tastes. At meanwhile, we need some laughters in our life, so some jokes will be O.K. However, studying English is quite important in our life, so I think some English studying materials will be helpful to us.
All above are my suggestions. I hope that you will take them into consideration.

Dear Terry,
Hello! In recent days, I have been told that our school newspaper will add an English section. I am so happy to hear that. I suggest that the English section can include some current news, sports and classic fictions.
At first, the current news is needed. As young students, we should care about what happen in the world. By reading the current news, we can not only learn much knowledge, but also expand our eyesight. Moreover, the current news in English can improve our English study.
In addition, most boys in the school may like playing sports games. If the English section was written something about sports, more boys would like to read it. And they might also be interested in English.
In the end, classic fictions are girls’ favorite things. If added, the school newspaper would be more popular.
I hope that our newspaper will be published better and better.
